An event that attracts people from far and wide and is arguably one of the city’s most attended attractions with over 6,000 people appearing to celebrate the festive season is returning this Thursday.
Amy Sheppard, from Winchester BID said “The Winchester Lights Switch-on event is so important, not only does it mark the start of the festive season, it also allows the community to come together to celebrate
“The switch-on highlights Winchester as a great Christmas destination, for either shopping, staying, or eating and drinking”
Although entry is free, Winchester BID always try to link the event to a charity and this year the collection will be going to Spare Change for Real Change, which helps the homeless people around the city.
The face of Heart Radio’s Breakfast Show, Rich Clarke will be hosting an evening of festive entertainment and fun, with a special guest to turn on the lights. It is an event that should not be missed.
